Just to cheer everybody up
Last year I almost went to uni and stayed in a dorm for two nights. I finished my application 8 minutes after the time to apply began. I applied for single room and got a twin room (I need my alone time). The rooms were ok in size, but the flats are tiny. I guess the kitchen is about the size of the rooms I have seen in the intoductory videos of Aber halls. The whole flat is about the size of an Aber kitchen. And one of the main lecture buildings was about half an hour walk from campus, there are parctically no buses and there's a 15 minute break between lectures. Considering that, Aber is amazing.
Now imagine having to stay in a medium sized never renovated 20 year old room with four strangers, sharing the bathroom and kitchen with the whole floor for a year.

Yeah thats true. The more I think about it, the less horrific it sounds, just the early dissapointment of not getting my first choice.

But like you say, could be much, much worse

And you won't have to negotiate the hill after a night out in town - very handy

I've been lucky enough to get my first choice in a Rosser en suite room.
It'd be good to talk to a few other people who are going to be there in September too

Yeah, you just buy one from the main office when you get there, they won't clamp you or anything for the first few days so don't worry about it, just ask when you go to register and they should have a form Permits are £60 a year I believe.

If anyone else is on the Aber facebook group, Cwrt Mawr seems to have alot of gamers in. Gaming events look very likely!!

I've been offered my first choice/preferred Cwrt Mawr. =]

Are you an Unconditional? Because you nearly always get your first choice if you are. I put budget as second choice stupidly and got worried too but I got my first choice.

Conditional offers find out in August after results day I think

Great advice there Sophie.
Hopefully every conditional peep will get there first choice accommodation but remember that it's on room type not location. Please don't go mad if you wanted a en suite and are put in the sea front as they are the only other en suites other than Rosser.

No, I'm conditional but I will send my results in about one week or so. What is result day in August? I'm an international student so I'm not sure if that applies to me.

If you send in your results and have achieved the conditions detailed in your offer then it will be changed to unconditional. If you have already applied for accommodation then you should get a reply from Aber regrading your accommodation offer.

Once you have done this nothing more is needed to be done until you receive a welcome pack in August. This will include details of setting up your Aber email address, finalising your accommodation and applying for a Aber card.

Thank you for your answer. I have already applied for accommondation yes, so I believe I am just going to have to wait (hopefully not for long) after sending my final results.
