    Section 1 was fine
    Section 2 was horrible

There were parts of the passage that even in the exam I knew I had them completely wrong.

I ended up writing "They were scared that they were not innocent and in this way had given them an unfair punishment" I knew near enough all the vocab (other than about 2 words) so i'm hoping i can get some marks from that but my grammar and word order was awful. And in the first sentence where "traditit" was used, i had no idea how to incorporate it, so i ended up leaving it out. I'm hoping I get an A, but a B seems more realistic.

i put in tradidit as something like "the ancient traditions handed over by the ancestors"
    not sure if its right..

'Sahajkaur' I am writing this on behalf of the whole of TSR:

You average more than fourty posts per day on this website, spending the hottest part of the year inside on your computer going through mark schemes for exams that you have already finished, when there is nothing you can do about them. Please go outside, get off your computer, and do something productive/fun ? Cambridge would rather have an interesting person with 90% than a boring person with 100%.

    Rant over.
    Adios amigos.

Here is the 100% confirmed verified and corrected MS:

    1) He used to have many slaves
    2) He was killed by one of his slaves
    3) They were accustomed to punish all the slaves who were living in the same house by death
    4) A huge crowd of people
    5) Do not kill so many innocent slaves!
    6) He sought the most serious punishment for such a dreadful crime.
    7) ‘It is not always good, senators, to follow traditions handed over by ancestors. Now, however what will happen if slaves are able to kill masters without punishment? Surely you do not believe this slave prepared his plan alone, without others? Surely the rest knew what this one wanted to do?’

With these words Cassius was trying to persuade the senators to punish all the slaves of [name], both wicked and loyal. Some were afraid that in this way, innocent slaves would pay unfair penalties. But Cassius had spoken so violently among the senators that no one dared to go against his opinion. The senators, therefore, with few resisting, sent out soldiers to kill all the slaves of [name].
Should that not be 'very many' as it was a superlative?

It should (I mentioned earlier), but I guess that as it was only a one mark question they may not care? I put very many..

Same here! I love language. Apparently there's a possibility my A level latin class will do English to Latin translation as opposed to Caesar.

I love how you say this but I doubt you actually spent hardly any time outside AT ALL. Wow, one person, you're SO representative of the WHOLE of TSR. I hate people like you who think they're so cool and post like this to 'look cool'. Really get over yourself. Live your life rather than attacking random people on the internet. If I like to go on here, then its my life. You don't have the last verdict on my actions the last time I checked. I choose what I do and just because i like to confirm things doesn't make me boring. I have my own life, I don't need anyone else to tell me how I should live it. Stop abusing me unless you want all those negs again.

Re: OCR GCSE Latin summer 2012
I'm very worried about the set text papers now! Had my last lesson today and the teacher has never even told us what to expect in the exam. I've had to research myself. We never knew whether it was a translation, questions or whatever. We asked about it and he was very vague. I have NO idea what i'm supposed to write for the essays. All we've done about set texts is go through the translation for virgil, germanicus and piso, clodia and pythius. Not very happy with my teacher right now. not only are we at a disavantage by only getting one hour of latin a week, and having only started less than a year ago, but he hasn't even bothered to tell us what the exam is like!

All I was told is that the techniques you need to know are similiar to what is in english exams, but my teacher is in england and doesn't know the standard grade course. The only techniques we really have in english exams are alliteration, emphasis, parenthisis, assonance, similies, personification etc is this about all that's in latin?

Out of 60, what do you reckon you need for an A*?

Also, when they say you need roughly 90% overall for an A*, is that 90% raw marks or 90% once they've been UMSed. If UMS ... What would you need raw in the papers?

So for the literature, will we get 2 10mark questions where we have to anaylse the texts, an 8mark question on the content of the texts and then a couple of random translation questions all to do in an hour?

I'm not too sure about the layout of the literature exams, and it's kind of freaking me out; is it going to be like last year's?

Dude... I'm sure it's fair to say that you're pretty sad for checking how many posts she makes per day and what uni she wants to go to...
p.s. don't shoot me, I'm just stating the obvious

you get one 10 marker, 1 8 marker and few SHORT comprehension passages and one piece of translation (about 3/4 lines) worth 5 marks

Btw from the sounds of it you're obviously a MUCH more interesting person than me because all YOU do is stalk me.
