Have you studied the normal distribution and how to use the probability tables? For most questions, drawing the curve out makes everything much easier until you no longer need to.

    Remember:
    -it is symmetrical
-the total area under the curve (total probability) is 1
-the mean of the standard normal distribution is 0, and its standard deviation is 1

    1. The standard dev for the standard normal curve is 1, so "within 2 standard deviations of z= 1.37" means
    P( 1.37-2x1 < Z < 1.37+ 2x1)
    = P(1.37-2 < Z < 1.37+2)
    Calculate using the tables...

    2. Have you done a sketch of the area. It's equivalent to a probability statement using 1.38.
    3. Use tables to find a probability closest to 0.63. What is the corresponding z-value?

I dont think I'm reading the tables properly.. I'm not getting any of the options for the questions, could you explain the steps in solving these questions please...

but this is the second thread you did it on, why did you not just post a new thread? As the question you asked was so obviously nothing to do with the new question.
