Time to change the National Anthem? If so, to what?
I've seen similar threads before, but I love this debate.

For me the current national anthem has no relevance. It's not a great tune, never sounds great sung by the mass and the lyrics are not particularly inspiring.

I personally think Jerusalem or I Vow to thee would be awesome national anthems. If you look at the lyrics they are much more meaningful and to me sum up what it means to be English. They also sound amazing when sung by lots of people - always used to send a shiver down my spine at school.

    Does anyone agree/ disagree?

Here's Bill Bailey's take on the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfjUb...eature=related

Jerusalem certainly sounds a lot better than God Save the Queen.

    Reword the soviet one

Serious answer: Land of Hope and Glory, I Vow To Thee My Country, Jerusalem... you can't go wrong
