I wouldnt think so, i was predicted ABC (C by a devil woman) and i applied for bath who normally accepted ABB for my course.
They rejected me, even though in the i knew i would get higher than my predicted grade and got ABB.

But they normally look at your predicted grades and if you dont match the prospectus then they will easily discard the application.

Do it! You've got 5 university choices, so if you like the look of L'boro, you should definitely go for it! You never know..

If you can, though, make sure you do well in your ASs (which I assume you're doing now) and then try and ask the teachers to bump up your predicted grades a bit. If your teachers are nice like mine, they'll happily predict you a grade higher than your working-at grade if it means you'll be more likely to get an offer.

It means you're more likely to get an offer you won't meet :erm:

If you're predicted ACC then an ABB choice is certainly pretty risky, so I'd be sure to have at least a couple of other choices with lower requirements.

Hm, true. Still, I think it's worthwhile to use one of your options on something a bit optimistic. If that fails, you've still got 4 other chances, and if you've got a strong personal statement/interview you should at least get 2-3 of those offers.

Though it will be difficult meeting the offer though, in my experience teachers tend to predict a grade lower than they think you can achieve, to make the school look better (or at least, seems to be the case with some teachers at my college...), so pushing up and achieving a B in those two C subjects should be possible, particularly as OP still has their A2 year to come, so plenty of time for hard-work, resits or w.e. is needed

i was predicted ACC and i applied to loughborough needing an ABB, they take into conisderation other things aswell, like extra curricular activities and your gcse results, so they can see if you have the potential and have just been slacking

I was predicted ABC and got accepted on an offer of AAA.

You've got 5 choices, you might as well give it a go if you like L'boro.

You could always apply for the SEFS chemistry year if you really want to go to Loughborough and don't wanna risk not getting an offer (:

    I would say definitely apply!!!!

When I was choosing universities I was told to go for 1 that was a dream uni/just out my reach (that was Loughborough), 1 that was a little higher, 2 that were bang on and 2 that were 'i should probably go work on a checkout for life if i dont get in' (their words! haha). Worked out pretty well for me because I got into Loughborough =D

As long as you think you can realistically achieve those grades then go for it just make sure you write a kick ass personal statement and they will probably offer you a place

Our school did the opposite; our head of sixth form ignored the predicted grades the teachers provided and predicted us (on UCAS) the highest entry requirements we'd applied for. Then again this is the same guy who said if we applied for NUS extra cards he'd neglect to check our DOB on the form, it's surprising the amount of places that accepted it as ID.

I'd definitely consider that a pretty risky choice, yeah :sadnod: I don't know how much emphasis they place on AS grades and predicted grades, but being predicted lower than the typical offer makes it a risky choice.

In fact I talked to my tutor about my choice, and she would like to give me AAB as my predicted grades, however she said she also need to look at other subject teachers' reference form... So if my tutor predict me AAB would it be less risky? coz I think if lufbra look at my AS grades and my predicted grades, I think they will have doubt y my tutor will give me such a high grade and look the reference letter as well? I rly desperate to study in Lufbra though.

If you were predicted AAB then that changes it a bit since you'd be expected to meet the offer
