Human biology makes me feel light headed and ill
I've always been a fan of blood and gore and the human body and I'm fine watching it on tv, and in films.
In real life i've dissected a heart twice and an eye and have a genuine interest for these things but after the 2nd time I disected a heart, I fainted and I don't have any idea why.
I have no fear of blood and was genuinely enjoying having another go at dissection... I fainted straight after I had finished, not during the time I did the dissection but since then I haven't been able to read my anything in my textbook about blood and the heart or diseases related to these things without feeling extremely light headed and ill to the point where I am feeling the need to throw up. I am still fine watching documentaries and films containing hearts and blood though.
It's really hindering my biology revision now and I don't have a clue what I can do about it. Anyone have any ideas? -
Re: Human biology makes me feel light headed and illNot really as I won't get the required results but I was hoping to go into a career involved with working behind the scenes in a hospital lab or something similar.(Original post by najinaji)
You're not alone in this respect. Were you planning to go into medicine, OP?
Do you have any idea what can be done to make me feel better? I feel like it may get in my way of getting a decent Bio grade! -
Re: Human biology makes me feel light headed and illIn terms of lightheadedness I can't really help you (ask a medical student, they've gone through the same thing as you x10), but in terms of nausea I find that taking the chewable/soluble antacid tablets helps, because the chalky taste and texture has an odd way of stopping you feeling quite as sick. It also neutralises stomach acid and reduces the chance of you physically being sick as well.(Original post by Anonymous)
