How did you find the bio? S
I did bio paper 3 today, it was ok, only on the final question, question 6 there was a thing on the effects of clearing land for cattle rearing ON THE ATMOSPHERE. This made it hard I only put 2 thing when it was for 3 marks, but apart from that it was cool, you guys? -
Re: Cie igcse 2012I do biology, maths, chemistry, physics, english language and french!(Original post by Puccini)
Cool, I'm doing CIE IGCSE maths, biology and physics, you?
Im done with maths, english, french, 2 biology papers, one physics paper!
How have your papers gone?? -
Re: Cie igcse 2012My paper was long! Btw, which variant did you have?? Mine's variant 2!(Original post by Puccini)

Re: Cie igcse 2012
I'm done with chemistry spanish maths and biology papers 3 and 6 (paper 1 left), papers 3 and 1 physics. Spanish and chemistry I got A* las year in november, the others I'm doing now. It's ok so far, no serious gaps in knowledge so I expect a A -A* result. I do variant 1, where are you doing your exams?

Re: Cie igcse 2012Oh how was Physics paper 3??(Original post by Puccini)

Re: Cie igcse 2012
To be honest I didn't like the Biology paper 3 (1st variant) that much, mostly because I basically spent all my time studying plants - my weakest part (reproduction, transport etc.) and nothing of that came up...
And don't get me started on practicals... I hate them, they never work out for me.
Not to mention my chemistry practical I did today which was the worst one i've ever done, nothing worked for me
, it went so badly and now all my confidence is completley crushed and my hopes of getting my A* seem poor
----
By the way about the Biology what did you put for the blood clotting question and the mammal temperature regulation? -
Re: Cie igcse 2012
I don't really rember, I'm concentrating on my physics on friday, but of the top of my head I think I put that platelets on contact with air releas enzyme Thrombin which breaks down water soluble fibrinogen into water insoluble fibrin, a mesh of fibrin fibres forms over cut and red blood cell trap here, harden to form scab and new skin forms under scab then scab falls.
On the mammal thing it was why mammal, specifically otters, can stay in cold water longer than reptile, the pink iguana. I put that mammals are homeothermic (warm blooded) and reptiles poikilothermic ( cold blooded). Mammal's cells respire aerobically to release energy, this is used to maintain body temperature, whils reptile's cells don't and their body temperature depends on environments temperature (I thought that last question was also hard). -

you shouldn't let that get you low, for most sixth forms and schools you need an A or B so no need to worry!

Re: Cie igcse 2012Thanks, at least it comforts me to know I put similar things to you in the Biology or those 2 questions(Original post by Puccini)

Re: Cie igcse 2012
First CIE thread I've come across.

I do additional maths, physics, chemistry, biology, English language, English literature, economics, computer studies and French. Variant 2.
Until now, I've done all the French papers, Economics paper 2 and 3, physics paper 1, Bio paper 3 and 6, Comp. studies paper 1, Chemistry paper 6, English lit. paper 4 and English language paper 2 and 3.
I'm so scared for physics paper 3 tomorrow. I've done like a million past papers, but still. D:
Good luck!
