The objectification of women in literature would be pretty interesting - I could give you a zillion books that portray this as examples.

Or maybe about how literature/society today is influenced by Classical literature/what the Romans did for us type of thing?

Could do politics in literature.

its my gcse english speaking assessment, i can do it on anything

Could do politics in literature, e.g. Chilean politics features heavily in The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende.

Why not do the commodification of women? You could make that really interesting and there is so much to say. It's a social issue.

The British Empire is a good one. People find it interesting to learn about how great their country was.

erm.. something along the lines of medical technology or poverty, drug abuse?

you could do military use of children (aka child soldiers etc)
i find that really interesting and if i could go back to last year i would do it as my topic.

my friend did organ donation which was quite good. you could look at prosthetics, i think that could be really interesting.

make sure it's something you are passionate about and know a bit about because at the end if your asked questions you NEED to know your stuff!

Come on, the standard of British university students is poor, but most all of them
would manage to write up a question which is better structured and has less
spelling errors...
