How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
    Hey there!

So, this thread has a simple scenario behind the question/title.

It's the day of an exam, you're stressed, you keep asking yourself if you've done enough, you need to prepare yourself, get everything together. What do you do?

    I'll start.

For starters, I get dressed in something I feel is comfortable, but also makes me look good. It's like when you go for an interview, you dress to impress. Looking good means looking confident, which usually makes you feel more confident.

I then treat myself at breakfast. Some of you are probably thinking: "shouldn't you do that after the exam?" But the fact is, when I treat myself, I feel more relaxed. Having a sit down in Costa with a medium Vanilla Latte and a Danish has to be one of the least daunting environments to read over notes.

And last, but most definitely not least, I think happy thoughts!
Even if the exam is of extreme importance, I make myself think things like "I can always resit later" or "I can't do anything else now, I've done my best."

So, what about you? What do YOU do to prepare on the day of an exam?

Usually I prepare well, but there are the odd times you don't, such as other commitments, procrastination etc. I just convince myself to do my best, and treat it like any old test. It actually works for me as it takes some of the pressure off

Get up, read over revision notes, get ready etc, drive to school and arrive 20 minutes early before the exam. I then look over my notes with friends before it's time to go to exam hall, then sit the exam!

I don't eat breakfast, far too anxious for that, I try to maintain some sort of calm and I avoid all stressful/potentially stressful situations, for maths avoid reading through the book on exam day,for anything else all is fair

Tremble, avoid food due to nerve-induced nausea, hold back tears.

    It's a pretty solid plan.

I don't revise on exam days I like to feel the confidence of having spent time to learn it beforehand.

I listen to pumped up music such as eye of the tiger and sometimes request it is played on my entrance to the exam hall. By this time I've had nothing but a banana and cup of orange for breakfast.

I then get to college in my boxing robe, jump around and make an entrance. Over a speaker I get the invigilator to announce I'm there:

"Ladies and gentlemen, in seat 104, AGENDA SUICIDE"(not real name). I then take off my robe and sit the exam.

TLDR: I just have a fairly average start, try not to cause too much of a hype.

Doing Uni exams me and my friends have taken to meeting up beforehand and going over things. Testing each other and swapping notes and correcting each other. I honestly wouldn't have done so well in my exams if one guy hadn't corrected me on a mistake I'd made with critics for my English exam.

We usually do this, then go for lunch (only had afternoon exams) so everyone can eat and then chill for a bit by talking about other things. If someone panics the others are always on hand to calm them down.

This approach really works for me, I felt more nervous in other exams compared to these, I had a fully blown panic attack before one of my A-level exams, felt so isolated.

I avoid contact with any other person taking the exam.

Just to get away from the whole:

    1) "OH ma god, I am SO gonna fail this!!!"

2)"Yahhhh so I've done 76 hours revision for this exam in total, feeling pretty chilled you knoooow"

    and

3)"Oh no **** where's my revision guide, I didn't even realise that was on the syllabus oh my god, but like I know the rest of it so well, have you revised this, this, that, this aaaand this?"

Completely chilled. No last minute revision as it gets me off balance. I stroll into the exam and casually do it. The result will just be how the cookie crumbles.

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
In First Knight a character asks a swordsman why he always wins and is baffled by the reply that he cannot care about whether or not he lives or dies. I find that thinking happy thoughts and radiating confidence even when I'm far from it is the best way to make sure that I am not flustered in the exam hall.

On the day of an exam I try not to get up to early, and I eat a decent breakfast. Then when I get over to school I find some mates and read over my notes whilst chatting so that I stay relaxed. I never get nervous per se but I do find that when I'm nearing the exam hall I get really aggressive as I used to before sporting events. I know nobody else who has to stop themself from hitting a wall before an exam starts!

Well, this morning I woke up, had 2 wheetabix, a glass of water, and ran to the bus.

Definite success regarding the exam, should have remembered to shower and put on clothes...
