Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?Which probably shows that those who are more organised were more likely to bring water (and more organised = possibly more revision).. not drinking water increases the grades!(Original post by Ahmeda1)
A tip to everyone for success in your exams. Scientists have confirmed that students who took a water bottle into the exam got better results than those whom didn't-this is a proven fact!! so if i were you i would consider this.

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
I try to have a decent breakfast(doesn't always work out, depends on what there is) read over some revision notes,I can't seem to sit and do nothing, get dressed in something comfortable but nice(makes me feel more relaxed somehow, silly I know) and get the bus to school.I avoid all the pre exam freakouts/just go off by myself for a bit, walk around, then go in and tell myself as I sit down,You can do this, deep breathing etc...

further more, in the exam some individuals tend to be scared and so as a result aderenaline rush takes over...and again from a scientific point, this causes panic and information form the brain dissipates. Resulting in bad form in the exam. -
Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
i have exactly three block of dairy milk chocolate..no more, no less

why? because i conducted a zillion experiments during GCSE exams to see how many blocks let me concentrate and 3 block was the optimum result
...sadly, i actually really didn't make this up...i'm just a nerd

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
I hate talking to or seeing people that are freaking out and want to ask me questions about particular topics, I start preparing for the day of an exam the night before. I make sure that I have a good meal the night before, and just relax. I start my revision months before exam season so I know when it comes to the exam I am as prepared as possible. In the morning I'm horrifically nervous and try to avoid saying much to anyone or just talk about something completely unrelated to anything that might be involved in the exam. Then once I'm in my seat, I calm completely and become more focused. I also always have a bottle of water with me, as I get really thirsty and it helps you stay awake.
The worst part of exams for me is always results day, I can't speak to anyone on results day until I've seen them and then I relax. I hate the feeling once an exam is over because I'm never sure how well I've done, because I don't want to feel confident and then have done badly, or have done really well but feel really bad. -
Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
I read over my notes, not excessively because that will panic me, but I have a 'browse' over my textbook or revision guide for the particular subject. I try to stay away from friends who will annoy me with their panicking, and their "Have you revised topic X??!?!?!". I try to stay around calmer people who either stand around in silence, or change the topic. I get there on time, or slightly earlier than necessary so I have time to take out my appropriate equipment and have some alone time. I also follow the instructions of the invigilator to the letter. I won't even write my name on my paper until formally instructed to.

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
I wake up super early and make sure I look presentable because it makes me feel more confident. I like to be completely by myself on the morning of an exam so I can get my head straight and without other people spurting random facts. I have a decent breakfast, read over my notes in panic and then not long before the exam I just tell myself there's nothing else to do and what happens will happen.

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
On the morning of an exam, I cry manly tears.
XD! I usually just wake up around 4am and go over my notes to make sure I haven't forgotten anything vital and, if time permits, do a past paper or two. Then I'll have a steady, calming breakfast of cereal and fruit and get going to college. Although nervous, I'm usually pretty calm as I'd have done a good deal of revision, so at college I casually go over my notes again till the exam starts.
Technically you can have deserts at the poles, just without sand.(Original post by fayled)

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
I've been the opposite so far but I have a week gap till my next exam and hope to change this:
I've been getting up, revising my arse of knowing I haven't done enough, eating shredded wheat cereal and no sugar as I don't want to have a sugar crash in the exam, grabbing any clothes nearby, last time I wore my size 34 trousers with no belt, and I've lost weight and am at 30 now lol. I also forgot to put my tie under my collar, button up my whole shirt today. Very un-colour co-ordinated and no time to shower and often looking through a past paper on the way to school.
I'm not even joking/exaggerating this is what I've been doing lol. Like I said I got time to prepare for upcoming exams now I don't intend to carry this on. -

Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
- wake up, have a shower etc
- listen to the radio whilst having breakfast (omlette and banana and glass of milk) and look over some notes
- I get a lift to school quite early so I get to school about 45 minutes before time to go line up for morning exams, so I try and cram with a hot chocolate (I eat a lot, super worried about tummy rumbling in examss)
- Grab water bottle etc and munch on a chocolate bar on the way to the exam hall.
- And go to the loo like 3 times just in case -
Re: How do YOU prepare on the day of an exam?
I never revise on the morning of the exam. If it's morning, I get up, have breakfast (for some reason I've banned sugary cereal on exam days, so it will be weetabix or shreddies or something with banana instead of sugar). I always drink loads of water. Listen to my ipod or talk to friends or read on the bus (hour journey...) and get there all calm and happy, and calm down my friends who are usually pacing.
If it's afternoon, I go for a run in the morning, have a shower, have breakfast (or brunch if it's like 11 by then). Watch some TV, then go to the bus stop with a sandwich or something to eat on the bus (if I had an early breakfast).
I'm actually strangely calm before exams; I know I will have already put the work in
