Edexcel GCSE French Reading 17th May
It's been 24 hours so we can discuss the exam now. How did you all find it? I hated that droopy the dog question but the rest of it wasn't too bad.

I had a panic attack on the doppy (the t.v dog) question, I know i failed that one. The last question made no sense to me, can any roughly estimate the marks for an A or a B i'm feeling optimistic

For the droopy one, do u think they will accept 'children' as an alternative to 'babies'
Apart from that question it was a relatively easy paper

It's unlikely you'll get the mark because it didn't say 'les enfants'. What was the answer to that question, though? I put that Droopy not liking baby's toys making noises might be bad because he could scare the families with babies. The scare bit was a bit of a guess, though.

The Droopy question seemed to trip everyone up. As a result of it, I didn't get time for the last question, so I had to select random boxes for it. Who knows, I might have hit lucky with the boxes I picked.

The rest of the paper was fine. One or two tricks here and there, but that tests your attention to detail. For instance, in the question about the girl from Quebec, she talked about all the colours of Autumn, and one of the boxes you could tick below said 'She talks about the colours of Spring'.

Hoping for an A* overall in French, but the boundary is relatively small. 270/300 UMS points needed. Will just have to wait until August to see the final result now...

    ...
The colours one was quite reasonable if you read it carefully though as they were all orange/yellow/red etc.
I agree that the Droopy question was oddly hard - there were several key words that I couldn't get!
The last one was better than other ones in past papers, though, so it was a generally OK paper :dontknow:

I thought the last question was pretty good compared to past papers and, apart from the fact i didnt tick the box where it said he is now a journalist cos i read he wanted to be one but missed the part where he said it motivated him to become one ¬_¬, i think i got that whole q right
For the the second part of q8, i was trying to figure out what the answer to the first one was, but then realised that was the example xD

    What were the options
I think one was that he was inspired at college to become a journalist.. The other that he was interested in anything that was going?
