Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)
Seen a flying pig? Randomly discovered something spam worthy? Let it all out here to your heart's content.

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)Yeah it'll be a proper camp site, haven't picked which yet but we're working on that part. It's not like we'd expect anyone to go into a field full of cows in the dark for a piss...(Original post by headunderwater)
I'm in Birmingham too if anybody wants to travel together. Are we going to an actual camp site? With actual toilets? Please say yes, and not that we're pitching up in some random wood

Good to hear a lot of people can hopefully make it
- other folks, lose out at your peril.

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)
Well, I'm definitely free for those dates (what with having such a pulsating and vibrant social life) but am unfortunately another potential chicken.
The amount of times I've said I'd do something then not done it...

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)You will love it. I've never met anyone from TSR but just putting yourself out there a little bit can be so rewarding... please try to come and meet other wonderful people; who are nervous too(Original post by Nut.)

Now the dates are set, Booked my Amsterdam trip for August. Is there any further planning going on soon? Lol, just afraid I'll miss some important detail somewhere! -

Keeping my sleep stable is very important in keeping my mood stable, for instance, and regular, organised sleep isn't something that'll be happening when camping.

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)Well assuming you have your own tent, if you can sleep when there is a bit of noise you can go to sleep whenever you want(Original post by Nut.)

Where will be decided and we might need deposits depending on what where we go requires(Original post by Anon420)

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)I'm exactly the same - without sleep my mood will drop. Pretty sure most of the group will understand that some need more sleep than others and will let others sleep when they need to. I'll definitely be sleeping a hell of a lot! And there's always earplugs if you're a light sleeper(Original post by Nut.)

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)This is true, I think I even have a couple of unopened packs somewhere which I can give out(Original post by ParadoxSocks)

This is true
Don't have my own tent, always slept directly under the stars on camping previous trips. I'm such acheapskateromantic.

Either that, or you can share a tent with someone or I might (depends on the state of it after its last use) have a spare tent - others might do as well. -
Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)
So I'm pretty much officially pulling out.
I'm still ok, nobody need concern themself (not that I expect you to anyway
) but I still need to get certains things straight in my head etc. and spending a week psyching myself up for a long train ride isn't the most constructive use of my time right now.
I'd be up for day trips/ meet ups a bit later on in the summer but overnighters are a bit heavy atm. -
Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)
Pulling out too, going Amsterdam in august and planning for this seems to have halted with only 2 and half weeks until it's supposed to happen yet nothing has planned like any car or tent shares and no location or what we will be doing.
But if it does go ahead, have fun and maybe see you on an official TSR trip next year

That's a shame, have fun in Amsterdam though.(Original post by Anon420)

The planning is still going on, just a bit stop-starty. Still, it all worked out fine last year.

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)
I should probably also inform you guys that I'm probably (like 98% sure) not going to be able to make it.
I'm struggling quite a lot with a few things right now, some of which would occur on the meet, so perhaps not the best idea to attend.
Sorry.

Re: Depression Society Camping Trip! (And possible other Summer Fun Times)
CAMP SITE CHOSEN.
Me and Rob have made various enquiries, and the one linked to above seems like the best one. It's £7.50 each per night, they allow camp fires and it's near to three pubs.
The nearest train/coach station looks to be Worle in Weston-super-Mare, and Rob is willing to shuttle people to and fro (plus if anybody who's coming down from the Midlands area would like a lift he'll see if he can take you - if there are less spaces than people then he'll pick whatever saves most money overall) to the site.
It would be good to get some idea of numbers, so if you're planning on coming please post and say so.
The dates are the 15th to the 20th of July, but you're welcome to stay only part of that time if you like.
Anyone who's interested in coming (including people I've missed out - the above was just from who's posted in this thread already), can you please let the thread know: if you're definite (not a massive problem if you aren't, but just so people can see), if you require or can provide a spare sleeping bag/tent space, and if you can provide a lift to anyone. You might also want to post where you'll be travelling from, in case anyone wants to meet up and travel together.
- other folks, lose out at your peril.
