    Got any questions? Ask away.
Just realised there is a fitness section in this forum and oh my, besides the half decent FAQ sticky edit= and very well written For the Girls sticky
there is a lot of confusion.

I'm going to try and be helpful and share knowledge acquired over 2 years of reading and researching.

Here are the bibles of workouts, nutrition and weight loss to get us started.

    Nutrition:

And a disclaimer for the ladies, if you want to lose weight, ''tone up'' , or are just going to the gym to ''stay in shape''. YOU NEED TO LIFT WEIGHTS.

No, you will not accidently look like this:

If only it was that easy.

Re: Got any questions? Ask away.
    hey!! i have some questions!!!

i go to gym about 3 times a week, 30 mins cardio (10 mins jogging machine but fast walking not jogging, may up this to a jog, 10 mins cross trainer, 5 mins on butt/thigh working machine, 5 mins on arm peddles), 30 mins weights (various for legs, abs, thighs, arms, butt)... i know it depends on the intensity too, i would say it's about moderate. also trying to go swimming 1-2 times per week but with exams coming up tis a bit tricky.

my diet is varied, quite balanced but probably slightly too much choc etc. and not enough fruit though i eat tonnes of veggies. i weigh 125 pounds and i am 5"4/5. my bmi is 20.9.

ANYWAY, i just want to tone up a bit and get better health and stamina! how long do you think?

my thighs are a bit like this

and the skin is a bit like this (my bum is not likes hers)

    i want thighs like this

they are still big (being realistic) but not gross looking

what kind of weights do you suggest, what weight (kg) and how many reps? i do thigh weights i do 20kg and 24 reps, is this enough?

i do 3 leg machines, they are thigh adductor, thigh abductor and leg curl.

the others i do are chest press machine, ab cruncher and another one, i don't know what it's called, it's like a bench and it has an arm pully thing that you pull horizontally.

    is this ok?

    thanks!!

Your cardio seems fine,as long as your diet is strict it's fine. Besides the leg curl those 2 other machines are unimportant to say the least. You should squat. Squats are THE leg exercise.
Work on your form first and increase the weight until you can do no more then 10-12 reps for 3 sets.In your situation I recommend you squat twice a week.

Small tip about nutrition you should stop counting in terms of veggies, fruits etc and start counting macros.

    http://www.freedieting.com/tools/nut...calculator.htm

Are there any lesmiles classes in your gym? I absolutely hate lesmiles but if they do have one then you should join a bodypump class just to learn the proper squat form, or just ask a personal trainer

Just don't get sucked into buying their ''services''
    Good luck.

Woah, slow down there buddy! Two whole years! You've been in the game a long, long time brah.

What do you squat, bench press, deadlift and press?

How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

What sports do you compete in/competed in and what have you won?

I'm not doing this to be a dick or attack you personally but 'two years of reading and researching' sounds to me a whole lot like 'two years of reading BBing.com and posting form critique on youtube videos'.

    Prove me wrong.

Simply posting links to BB.com(that have all been posted before, numerous times) isn't exactly helping much.

Impressive stats if true...obviously apart from your height, which is probably the most important one.

Since when is asking someone who professes to know a lot about fitness what their stats are a personal attack? Get a grip mate.

With those numbers you should compete in PLing. You'd have at least a couple of raw divisional records in the BDFPA with those numbers at that bodyweight, possibly British records too (though I haven't checked those).

In fact, while you're at it you should compete in natural BBing too. 8%bf at 180lbs is impressive, plus you're like 3%bf away from being in contest shape all year round!

Since you gave your bodyweight in lbs, I'm presuming you're also giving your lifting stats in lbs as well. If so, that is very mediocre.

Mediocre? If those lifts are in lbs that is pathetic. Especially for two years worth of lifting.

Most hit those lifts for a 1rm within a couple of months.

    It's not a macho thing.

This guy has little/no experience of fitness, he has provided no proof for his (probably inflated) stats. People like this have no business pretending to be experts.
