Anyone know which question they're going to pick for section B? I'm going to go for the globalisation question regardless on how hard it is

I haven't even revised for it, only been doing past papers if that counts.... been getting A's for all of them so I wonder how I'll cope under exam pressure.

For part B, I'll pick whatever I guess that looks easiest, nothing on global hazards which isn't my strong point xD

What ever looks the easiest but i prefer the physical parts so the hazards and climate change but i also like the migration questions

Geography's my favourite subject, so I wanna do really well in it. It's getting me stressed out :/
Anyone got any really good tips to success?

And with the big questions (10 and 15 markers) I will definitely choose the physical questions, because they're easier than the human ones for me.

Use a lot of examples !! I.e. facts and figures that you can remember.

like 70% of Africans rely on subsistence farming for their household income.

or like the Arctic warms at twice the rate of the rest of the world because of feedback systems.

or like Tanzania had to cut off water supplies to poorer slum areas as part of their privatisation of water services to meet the SAP regulations of the IMF debt relief.

just random stuff, remember it, then write it down to back up your point. Gets you the markssss

    Hi,
How many facts is everyone learning for each case study?
How many additional case studies do you have? (what are they?)

What are the main things we need to learn?

& please can someone explain El-nino & the affects of it?

From the top of my head, El-Nino is a change in the trade winds of the pacific (so during an El-Nino year the trade winds move east bringing dry conditions such as drought to areas like Australia, whilst areas such as California suffer from flooding)...La Nina is basically an intensified normal weather cycle..remember El Nino is a context hazard

For q7 i think california and Philippines is due
for q8 i think mitigation or adaptation strategies to reduce climate change
for q9 i think positive and negatives of TNC's
for q10 i think positive and negative effect of polish migration on host and source nations

For part B I want to do Globalisation, I've been doing past papers and it is most commonly the easiest, I find human geography easier than physical, it's probably because I do economics :s

For the California and Philippines case studies do we have to know examples of previous disasters, for example how many deaths etc.? Or is it ok just to know that these disasters happen and what in the country makes them vulnerable to the disaster?
