    One more:

    - Transport providers might not be able to recognise the external benefits.

Just to point out that there is a change in the mark allocation for this question since January 2012:
    - 2 marks for analysis
    - 4 marks for evaluation
    - 2 marks for evaluative conclusion
Oh s*** :/ In that case i woulda lost two marks on that question

How are my points? I kind of relate them together to strengthen my analysis.
Your points are correct, how many analytic paragraphs did you do?

i did 3 as well, almost the whole paper was not what I expected
so monopoly was the only topic that I was quite familiar with.
    Didn't have a 'choice' haha..
Is 2 the one about putting value on externalities? How about the 2nd part?

I can safely say I messed up part a :L
I started talking about COBA (cost benefit analysis) and explained how it works and tried to analysed how they attach cost to it.

In the end I ended putting some AO4 in there as how you cannot attach monetary values to it..etc

i could very easily be wrong, not feeling confident at all! i just thought it seemed to stress importance on how they put monetary values on. it also seemed to hint that it wanted you to focus on congestion and noise pollution. it was a real b*gger of a question really, as the new mark scheme says you need to deeply analyse 2 or more points. exactly how far can you analyse the methods was what got me

no don't worry you could have talked about CBA (cost benefit analysis) or COBA (COst benefit analysis-computer model), and i talked about CBA and how it is difficult to place a monetary value on externalities, etc

Yeah same, this is the part I feel I lost the most marks in, apart from the 8marker earlier!

Had no clue what the Open Skies thing was so talked about the bus market :L

the question asked how they attatch monetary values, not to discuss the effectiveness of cba. analyse, not discuss.

I mentioned both but palpably explained that COBA was the model used in transport markets and carried on from there!
I just explained the things such as time savings cost..etc; I found it hard to analyse deeply without A04 in my opinion (although I did put it in there at the end)
