I deleted my Facebook about 8 months ago and it literally changed my life! I do so much more with my life nowadays. I think any social networking sucks the life out of actually socialising.
I have Twitter purely to follow news within my work sector so I know what's going on in the world.
More people are noticing that it is possible to live life without a Facebook account and will follow suit eventually. -

We will all probably look back in 5, 10 years time and say $38 was cheap. -

What theory? -
Re: Is Facebook overvalued? POLLHaha. I'd have to agree.(Original post by nickss)
Probably worth more than greece now though..
But yeah, I see no reason why in the future another social network couldn't just appear and become a larger hype. The one good thing about facebook is the constant updates, as soon as they stop then someone else will see a gap in the market and facebook will subsequently die. -
Re: Is Facebook overvalued? POLLCrumbs, Bill Gates is here. What an honour to have your personal contribution and so wise!(Original post by Bill_Gates)
Over valued is not the word. This will be laughed at for years to come. -
Re: Is Facebook overvalued? POLLI wonder. The dotcom boomscape is as littered with tragic declines and failures (actually more littered) as it is stellar successes.(Original post by f1mad)

The big thing Facebook has going for it right now though is the sheer size of the cash pile it is now sitting on - $100bn - as with Google and Apple, this will make it a buyer of companies rather than one that gets bought. Therefore I would expect it to be around for some considerable time as a corporation.
The real test is to what extent Zuckerberg & friends can come up with new ideas and new ways of making money. Pressurising their signed-up users with more and more ads won't hack it and will switch them off. They need smarts and plenty of them. They now have the money to buy a lot of brains.
