jubilee campus or BGP

I've firmed nottingham and am currently pulling my hair out trying to sort out accommodation. :frown:

I will be doing Law in September (if i get the grades that is) which is on the main uni site. however, all the rooms have been allocated on uni park campus.

i've narrowed it down to a choice of ensuite studio at BGP (this is all they have left at BGP and i really liked the look of it). I'll have my own kitchen in the room, but I'm worried that I may find it more difficult to socialise this way, perhaps?

The other option i have is to go for an en suite room at the jubilee campus - this is about £100 more than broadgate park and it's catered which will be alot easier. but the problem with this is that its quite far away from the law school..

so, wondering whether anyone has any experiences living in a studio flat - does it get lonely? also, do you think living at the jubilee campus would really be that much of a hassle or not?
THANKYOU!

living at jubilee won't be too bad, there's a hopper bus every 15 mins to UP so you should be fine  all my lectures are at Jubilee but I'm staying at UP

I study law and in my second year used to live very close to Jubilee campus. I used to walk in at times (took around 30-40mins), or get the Jubilee hopper bus which drops you right outside the law building and would take around 15-20mins.

As a fresher, living in an actual uni hall may be better because you'll have a more active hall life.
BGP is nice, and it is much closer to law. They do have events and things for students who live there, but obviously it's not the same atmosphere as living in hall.
Also think about whether catering makes a big difference to you, as BGP is self-catered but Jubilee halls are catered.

If I was you, I would definitely go for Jubilee halls. Plus the rooms there are very nice too!

Don't let the distance of Jubilee put you off. The Law and Social Science building is right in the centre of University Park; if you're at Broadgate then you'll have to walk that distance (about 800 metres) from the West Entrance every day. I reckon it would take 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your walking speed. On the other hand, if you're at Jubilee then the aforementioned Hopper bus will take you from a bus stop very close to your halls to a bus stop at University Park which is near to the Law and Social Sciences building. As mentioned the bus is every 15 minutes; depending on how long you have to wait for the bus, your journey could be anything from 10 to 25 minutes. So there isn't much in it really.
The only problem with living on Jubilee is that for the first 2-4 weeks of term, the queues for the bus sometimes mean waiting up to 30 minutes to get on a bus. In recent years, the uni have started using double deckers sometimes, but you can still have a wait for a single decker. However it is only about a 30 minute walk from Jubilee to the law school, so is easily walkable.
