Blue pleated maxi skirt
So I recently bought this skirt.
Absolutely love it, I was always wanting to buy one. And I was going to get one in a darker colour. But I thought, screw it.
I'm having a bit of trouble though trying to find some things to wear it with. And without making it look too dressy. More casual. I have a formal maxi dress in the same colour, so I guess it just reminds me of that.
Tl;dr. Casual outfit for the skirt, accessories etc. any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtThose look hideous. OP I'd just wear it with a basic white tank top tucked in and some wedges?(Original post by SmileAway)
I would wear it with this top,(but tuck it into the skirt, rather than tied up.) and then these sandals:
Just to give it a summery look

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtI didn't mean those exactly, since I just searched for a general look of clothes...you don't have to be so rude about it(Original post by sarahthegemini)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtSorry, I didn't mean it to come across so harsh!(Original post by SmileAway)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtI think your suggestion is more retarded, how could she wear that skirt with a white vest?? The other top suits it.(Original post by sarahthegemini)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtLove the skirt! Perhaps a white or beige fitted top, a pretty belt, a leather jacket (black or tan) and some strappy wedges?(Original post by Mother_Russia)

Anything would look good with that skirt on

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtWhite tank tops go with pretty much anything. I don't see how the skirt is so outrageous that a vest top would look retarded.(Original post by PurpleMonkeyDishwasher)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtIt's not appropriate for such a smart skirt. Jesus, I feel like I could dress 90% of girls better than they dress themselves, girls are horrendous when it comes to style.(Original post by sarahthegemini)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtIt's not that smart... I mean, I wouldn't expect to see anyone wear it to a job interview.(Original post by PurpleMonkeyDishwasher)
It's not appropriate for such a smart skirt. Jesus, I feel like I could dress 90% of girls better than they dress themselves, girls are horrendous when it comes to style.
And that's a huge generalisation you made there. You seriously think that every single girl on this planet dresses horrendously? -
Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtNo, I think 90% of girls I see day-to-day do. I said 90 not 100%. Yeah... of course you wouldn't wear that skirt to a job interview but surely you agree it's definitely a step above a cheap, basic cotton white tank top?(Original post by katles)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirt
Well I didnt think there'd be such a fight over this!!
The idea was to casual it up, so something plain on the top would work. Personally I don't go for white tank tops....I don't like tank tops. Theyre for the gym/jogging. So I see your point there purple monkey dishwasher. But I noticed you haven't recommended anything. What would you put me in then?
I actually wore it yesterday, wore a plain black blouse (similar to the one in smileaway's post), blackleather jacket and black wedges. Was 'striding' down Oxford street (I had somewhere to be, and i wasn't liking all the tourists) and a guy actually stopped me and said I looked amazing in that skirt. He didn't even sound creepy about it. We had a little chat and off we went. I wish more people like that. I wish I could do that. -
Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtClearly you couldn't - that skirt isn't even remotely smart and OP wanted a casual look(Original post by PurpleMonkeyDishwasher)

Re: Blue pleated maxi skirtI was trying to imply that the first suggestion was perfect, any sort of cream/white blouse would look great with it.(Original post by Mother_Russia)
