So I recently bought this skirt.

Absolutely love it, I was always wanting to buy one. And I was going to get one in a darker colour. But I thought, screw it.

I'm having a bit of trouble though trying to find some things to wear it with. And without making it look too dressy. More casual. I have a formal maxi dress in the same colour, so I guess it just reminds me of that.

Tl;dr. Casual outfit for the skirt, accessories etc. any ideas?

Those look hideous. OP I'd just wear it with a basic white tank top tucked in and some wedges?

Love the skirt! Perhaps a white or beige fitted top, a pretty belt, a leather jacket (black or tan) and some strappy wedges?

Anything would look good with that skirt on

White tank tops go with pretty much anything. I don't see how the skirt is so outrageous that a vest top would look retarded.

I would probably wear it with a white top, tuck the top into the dress and put a skinny belt around my waist. If you want to make it look a bit different you could try wearing a cropped light coloured jacket with it.

It's not appropriate for such a smart skirt. Jesus, I feel like I could dress 90% of girls better than they dress themselves, girls are horrendous when it comes to style.

No, I think 90% of girls I see day-to-day do. I said 90 not 100%. Yeah... of course you wouldn't wear that skirt to a job interview but surely you agree it's definitely a step above a cheap, basic cotton white tank top?

Well I didnt think there'd be such a fight over this!!

The idea was to casual it up, so something plain on the top would work. Personally I don't go for white tank tops....I don't like tank tops. Theyre for the gym/jogging. So I see your point there purple monkey dishwasher. But I noticed you haven't recommended anything. What would you put me in then?

I actually wore it yesterday, wore a plain black blouse (similar to the one in smileaway's post), blackleather jacket and black wedges. Was 'striding' down Oxford street (I had somewhere to be, and i wasn't liking all the tourists) and a guy actually stopped me and said I looked amazing in that skirt. He didn't even sound creepy about it. We had a little chat and off we went. I wish more people like that. I wish I could do that.

I was trying to imply that the first suggestion was perfect, any sort of cream/white blouse would look great with it.
