Computer science graduates - How much money are you earning?
I am interested to know how much money computer science graduates are earning. I doubt I get any replies to this thread, as people don't like to give out personal information on the internet.

If your a graduate, can you fill in the information below?

Name of degree course, is it an BSc or MSci etc:
    Grade achieved, 1st, 2:1 etc:
    Did you do an MSc:
If did MSc, what grade did you achieved:

Sorry this is probably irrelevant to the purpose of this thread, but the computing course at UCL entitles you to a MEng and the one at bath gives you a MComp as far as I'm aware. Is an MSc better than MEng in terms of employability?

Neg reps for..? Lol this is ridiculous but whatever.

There's too much salary variation in compsci to ask this, especially since many top compsci grads can end up working for (or even forming) startups where the main attraction is the equity rather than the salary. Typicaly compsci has a great job market if youre good, and a near 6 figure midcareer salary wouldnt be abnormal for the best people. Meanwhile, most typical compsci grads who are in more 'IT' orientated roles wont be getting that.

Basically if you are very talented then you are likely to earn a lot, while if you arent then you wont. "Good" (and high paying) programming jobs are generally startups, top tech companies like google/facebook, companies doing very technical/research stuff, and perhaps technology in an investment bank (although this is boring). "Bad" jobs are typically staff programmers and IT/support. As you might expect, most jobs fall into the bad category and the good ones are very competitive.

Decent money provided you don't end up in IT support

Or excellent money if you sell out to a big investment bank
