    Hull Postgraduate Applicants 2012 - 2013
    Hi there,

Just thought it would be nice to create a thread for postgraduate applicants @ Hull.

Myself, I am currently applying for an MSc by Research in Human Geography and quite confident to get an offer between now and a few weeks.

I'm 27 and currently here on a scholarship for my third year undergraduate (officially from the Netherlands) but I really like the university and the chances it offers me, so I decided to stick around for one more year and do my Masters here!

Any more of you (future) postgrads applying at the moment?

    Hello

I have received the offer from Hull for my postgraduate study. You have studied there for few years? Do you think lecturers, staffs, the environment of the city and accommodation is good?

Just for one year: doing only my third year undergraduate here. My other two years I did in The Netherlands (Radboud University Nijmegen).

I really love the university of Hull and at least the profs and people in the departments I have experienced (Geography, History, English and Social Sciences) were really friendly, helpful and skilled. The campus is beautiful and I really love the older buildings. For student life I can recommend Newland Ave to everyone: coffee, beer, shops, everything you need.

I have no accommodation experience though: my husband and I found our own place to live.

What postgraduate course have you applied for?

    Hey guys

I'm starting my Ph.D in September at Hull in Medical science.

Just out of interest, whereabouts are you guys living? I applied to the postgrad halls thinking it would be a easy way to meet people, but ironically haven't seen anyone staying there!

I'm staying in a private house, close to Willerby (with my husband), so no Halls here. During the summer months even postgrads return home or go for a (short) holiday so it might be just the period that's nagging you.

That's very true- guess I should stop being impatient!

Do you guys know if there's any postgrad-specific events during freshers week?

Same here! Plan to go with a few friends (both mature and postgrads). Last year it was fun, however I regret not being more active in the postgrad society, so planning to make up for it this year. Not that I'm considering a board position, but just more socials/drinks etc.

You mean REAL mail after you have received the email? I haven't yet! However, I have received invitations for introduction and registration day by email and in myAdmin I can see that the course is already 'opened' for 2012-2013

Did you look at the section 'modules and programmes' or 'application'? because I believe your application status won't change after being set to 'submitted'.

Still have to figure that one out. Hoped I would get a letter or email with instructions, but haven't seen anything like that yet, so I'll be dropping by uni tomorrow to ask them when and where and how I can bring them my small fortune
