Re: Overweight or Underweight Children- which is more worrying? No, I didnt happen to miss the word children(Original post by Formerly Helpful_C)
Did you happen to miss the word 'children'? I eat plenty of food but I'm not the biggest person (weight-wise) in the world. I also don't have any 'self image' problems. How condescending.

Re: Overweight or Underweight Children- which is more worrying?
I think lots of kids are naturally quite skinny, just because they're way more active than the average adult.
If it was legitimately underweight, I do think that would be more concerning, simply because it might imply neglect or something. A child can be overweight and be perfectly loved by their parents, just they may be a little uneducated about what to feed their kids. It's probably harder and more sensitive to address a neglectful parent, rather than an overzealous one. -

Makes your response all the sillier, especially because you have the audacity to then get shirty. -

Yeah but fat people just say they're addicted to food and get fatter.
Well the ones in the news do

Re: Overweight or Underweight Children- which is more worrying? That may be the explanation in some cases but on one of the many Embarrassing Bodies spin-offs or specials a family claimed this as the reason but after investigation, it was found that they were actually less genetically predispositioned to being fat. Excuses excuses...(Original post by Formerly Helpful_C)
The 'fat' gene.
It just seems that there were fewer fat people a few years ago, and not just because they did not have enough food either. -
