Hi. This is a simple 1 mark Question that I unfortunately cant do. Maybe I am overlooking something can someone explain why this is.

Given that 5 sin (theta) = 2cos (theta) Find the value of tan (theta)?

I know sin(theta) / cos (theta) is tan (theta). Therfore shouldn't the answer be 5/2 as it is 5sin(theta equalling 2cos(theta)? The mark scheme says 2/5 instead. Can someone please explain why this is?
    sin(theta)/cos(theta) = 2/5 - This is right.

Divide each side by cos theta then divide by 5.

think about this. this kinds always result in an equation in terms of tan. you have cos theta on both sides and sin/cos =tan.
what can you do with that annoying cos on the other side?

No the answer is 2/5. If in doubt take it one step at a time.
