Why is it that Chelsea are the hated side for buying the premiership but people who don't support Man Utd think very highly of Man City for doing the same as what Chelsea did?

As a City fan I would argue that we've had just as much hatred about our spending, maybe even more. All throughout the season the only argument someone has thrown at me is "yeah, but you bought the league" or "City are ruining the league with all this spending". It does get on my nerves, but I suppose it comes along when a club is starting to become successful. Look at United, everybody apart from their fans dislikes them (on the whole) and this is purely because they are a successful club and people are accustomed to them winning. People always like to have an excuse for something, and that's why Chelsea and City get criticised about their spending, as its the only real argument that they have against them winning - looking past the fact that they have/have had some of the best squads in the world.
