Is it weird I listen to more Japanese music than English?
Hey guys;
I was just listening to some anime opening music and realised how I am listening to more Japanese music than I am English even though I don't speak much Japanese although, anime has taught me a little bit of Japanese. =l
Is it weird?
What's with the negging?
It's a question NOT an opinion. =lLast edited by Scienceisgood; 20-05-2012 at 19:57. -
Re: Is it weird I listen to more Japanese music than English?
Why would it be weird? Plenty of people like the opera and African music without understanding what is actually being sung. The voice is an instrument, and whilst strong lyrics can make a song very special, there's no real reason not to gleefully take in the music of foreign cultures.
What's your favourite OP/ED at the moment?Last edited by ЯOЯЯIM; 20-05-2012 at 18:33. -

It's not the norm, but nobody can exactly call you weird. It is after all, your own personal taste.
I think that you needn't necessarily understand a language to enjoy the music as RORRIM said, voice is an instrument and if a certain voice strikes a chord with you, there's nothing wrong with that.
That all said:

Re: Is it weird I listen to more Japanese music than English?I just like listening to it because it has NO swear words at all(Original post by weirdnessandcoffee)
Loool, I have to say- it's because I've grown up around it and actually even use to have it on my ipod when I was 11 or 12, but then it became like a guilty pleasure loool.
. It also really helps me calm down and the beat for some songs is amazing.
My friends think it's weird because i hardly speak the language but my mum says you can tell a lot about a countries culture by the type of music they produce
