Well they ask for a 'substance' so I think resin will be the only one they'll take. Insect galls are more growths than a substance.

Not sure. It will discourage grazing, but I don't think it's actually toxic to herbivores - it just tastes bad. Not sure if that will make a difference though so you might get it.

I learned that nicotine just discourages insect attack so i didn't write that...

Has anybody got the marks for the essay question about mitochondrion and cytochrome system?

Guys please someone asure me, i did it all in pencil the woman muttered something 5 minutes in to do with pen but i was kinda busy.

think i got 70% going over paper with answers posted here, i'd be ****ing enraged if they didn't mark it when i got an A?!

Not a marking scheme but here is what I put which parts of were confirmed with my teacher afterwards:

Mitochondria contains a double membrane, cristae and the fluid-filled central matrix

Cristae is site of cytochrome system and provides a large surface are for these respiritory processes

Central matrix is site of Krebs cycle

NO MENTION OF GLYCOLYSIS

Hydrogen is brought into cytochrome by the hydrogen carrier NAD

This hydrogen drives the production of 36 ATP from 36 ADP + 36 Pi

Oxygen acts as final hydrogen acceptor and produces water

I need to emphasise that this is by no means a marking scheme and there will be more to it than this I'd imagine but those are basic points.
