Those of us who have more unusual preferences should be aware (IMO) of how others will feel about our actions. It's sad that people are so hung up on the naked body and see nakedness as sordid/sexual/weird but that's life.
I don't mean that we should hide away. We have every right to express ourselves because who we are isn't harmful or dangerous. It's just different. However, there is a delicate balance between self expression and throwing ourselves in others' faces.
In my case, I keep my less conventional behaviour away from those who I don't know are OK with it while at the same time explaining to people who I am and why that doesn't make me a bad or dangerous person. With a little understanding, respect and compromise on all sides, you might reach a point where you can all be comfortable.
Perhaps make it known that you are a nudist but don't follow that up with 'do you mind if I strip?' You have nothing to be ashamed of, but I think it's worth working on understanding before trying to get people to deal with the reality of it.
There is a great blog called Naked Vegan Cooking. It's run by a group of body positive students (one is an acquaintance of mine) who were recently featured on a documentary about nudism and naturism. If you got in touch with them, they might be able to help?

I'm honestly pretty surprised by some of the responses; obviously you want to ensure your flatmates are cool with it, discuss and explain it etc, but some of the people on here like Alpharius, saying it means you're a slag who's up for it with anyone at anytime? What is wrong with some people?
@Schmokie Dragon ... awesome website, btw (Naked Vegan Cooking) -

I think everyone will be quite nervous so maybe wait till you're all settled in to tell them, obviously in your room it's fine but it might be a shock to them if you were in the hall or kitchen. Perhaps you could do stages of nudity so start wandering around in a crop top and shorts then eventually become nude.
