Yeah, what course are you going to do? KCL doesn't do Art, it doesn't even do Drama. The closest you get to creative industries at undergraduate level seems to be Film Studies. I dropped out of KCL last year for a variety of reasons, and this year applied to Goldsmiths, Leeds and some London drama schools. KCL didn't work for me because I was on the wrong degree (Hispanic Studies) and didn't like the atmosphere, it was dog-eat-dog competitive and central London is such a hard place to be creative in and relax in, for me anyway. The Strand campus is gorgeous and beautiful, but not hugely student friendly, and is a good walk from the library. There's not really anywhere to chill out and socialise near the Strand, and I felt stressed, lost and upset. This was just me though, I'm a silly northern provincial girl. However, Goldsmiths is completely different- you forget you're in London at all, and you're enveloped into this beautifully chilled out creative bubble in New Cross. I absolutely love the area and the university, it just didn't offer enough flexibility in the course options and Leeds was more practical. I still might change my mind though! Goldsmiths is a great place to meet potential collaborators and is very highly respected in the creative industries such as art, media and communications, anthropology, performance studies and creative computing. I just wish their drama course was a bit more practical, and I'd have no decision to make. New Cross is so close to London Bridge it's unreal and living prices aren't as mental as North of the river.
Hope this has helped xxxx
P.S. Just looked at the websites v. quickly, I assume you're doing an MA in Creative Industries? I don't know much about MA stuff because I don't have a BA yet, but if you've got into KCL for an MA, I'd go for that tbh.
