English Literature help?!

hello, I'm doing my English literature exam on Tuesday.
For section A I am answering one question, I was wondering how you would structure the answer? Say the question is 'How does Simpson make the accident tense and exciting for he reader?'
For section B I'm doing of mice and men, which will be in two parts; I also need help structuring an answer for this. For a practice question it says 'How does the writer use details in this passage to show the relationship between George and Lennie?' what does it mean by "details".
Any type of help will be grateful.

Well we only finished reading the book a few weeks ago. An in class we've focused on the context and stuff like that.
