    !!Subject Choices!!
Hi! So I have to choose my subjects soon! And I am SO confused!
    My subjects are definitely:
    English HL
    Spanish SL
    Math SL

    And then I'm confused about:
    Art HL/SL
    Psychology HL/SL
    Chemistry HL or Biology SL
(Im not sure between the two sciences, my school only offers chem HL so if I don't do it I would take bio at SL.. Only two sciences my school offers.)

I have no idea which to take, I want to do something englishy at university/ later life such as journalism, publishing, editing, I also what to try out acting. I do really love chem and Im not too fond of bio, but would it be pointless for me to waste one of my HLs on a science..?! I just think art and psych would help me out more in my future..? And is art or psychology not a good idea?

I really need some advice.. What would be the best combination between the subjects I'm confused about? Considering I already have one HL?

    Thank you!!!!

    Re: !!Subject Choices!!
considering u want something 'englishy' id say english HL is a must, which ur already taking.
the rest of the subects would not help a lot if u wanna do english, so ill move on to the subject choices u have:
i did chem HL and i went through the exam last week, chem hl is really challenging and requires a great amount of effort to score high in, since u like it, u can take it cz i also enjoy chem and when u really enjoy it, the subject becomes unbelievably fun and tbh i cudnt get enough of it at one point but nevertheless its still difficult and challenging. bio sl on the other hand is a piece of cake true u have to do a lotta memorizing but its incomparable to hl (i did hl and the amount of info we gotta know is severe) so if ur looking for grades, bio sl would be a better choice.
i did not take art and psych, but i can say that if u want an englishy course at uni, then there isn't a point in those two. u can definitely try out theater at sl/hl if ur school has it, otherwise nothing else would help for acting. id say take psych but dont go into art cz i hear its very hard to score high in, and if ur not gonna do something art related then its pointless.
and also, another thing u might wanna try is history, since u want an englishy course at uni, u might really like history too and it would be a gd choice for uni applications too.
and finally, why math sl? i did sl and i can tell u that it isn't easy at all, and requires a good amount of effort to score high in. if u wanna do journalism or english in the future, u wont need it at all so id say go for math studies its much easier and u would be able to concentrate and spare more time for other subjects.
so in the end the combinations id go with are:
    eng history theater hl
    spanish mathstudies bio sl
thats the better combination u can make for the courses ur interested in, but assuming u have only these choices, then:
    eng psych chem hl
    spanish maths art sl
this would be the best choice, and u can swap maths for math studies if u have it. the reason i chose chem hl to bio sl was because u like it, and if u like a subject ur definitely gonna put more effort in it
hope u could help, gd luck

Thank you so much!! My school doesn't offer theatre, only visual arts, that's the only reason why i though taking a group 6 at HL would show creativity if i tried to get into a acting Uni...? Or am I just being stupid? Do you think i should take it at sl or not at all?

And I would do history, but I'm just not sure I would do as well as in psych. And I also heard its really time consuming.. Is that true?

then id say do visual arts or arts, but for acting visual would be better, however its ur call and although history is a lot of work, take it at least to sl cz it's really gd for like a journalist/editor kinda professions cz u need to analyze well, and both english and history shows a strength in analysis. some unis would look at that even if they dont require it, and it may give u an advantage. plus it can prepare u and make u a better analyzer in the future for those courses but its ur call u can choose either history or psych.. but if u decide u dont want anything to do with acting anymore, then u can drop that and take both gd luck
