Revision has taught me that i hate my course
Im in my first year of uni at the moment, i love the city that im in but i hate the course im doing and the people who surround me every day. Sure, i have met some amazing friends have have had some great life experiences but im just not as happy as i feel i could be. I loth having to go to lectures, having to see the people in my course aswell as the people at uni... If im honest i think im gonig to fail the exams coming up, i did great in january but i couldnt keep up the pretenses any more that i like d my course. I tried, i tried really hard to like it but i just hate every second of it.
When i was making my choices there was a good uni and a lesser uni with slightly different course... Of course i got pushed into the better one and have disliked it ever since. I just keep on thinking how i was in the other uni with different people.
The thing is what do i do now? What can i do now? I want to switch unis and course but how do i go about doing this and is it possible to do this late in the game? -
Re: Revision has taught me that i hate my courseYes, it is possible. You should contact the university and ask them if they're still accepting applicants for the course and check that they will consider you. If they will, you make a fresh UCAS application to apply for it - you have until June 30th to do this.(Original post by FreshWay)

There's more advice on late applications here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1895651Last edited by TheSownRose; 21-05-2012 at 01:50. -

Re: Revision has taught me that i hate my courseStudent finance isn't my strongest area, so if you've got any specific questions I advise asking them here.(Original post by FreshWay)

A basic overview: assuming that this is the only year of higher education that you've had, you're still able to get finance for the entirety of another course. If you've already applied for next year's finance and are successful in getting a place for this other course, you'll need to submit a Change of Circumstances so your fees will be paid to the correct university and so they don't think you did multiple years on this course - this was all done on paper when I was doing it, but I think it's all gone online now, which I have no experience of or guidance for. As for paying back this year, I believe it just gets tacked on to whatever you take out for the new course, although I wouldn't swear to it and I'm not sure how the change in payment system will affect it.Last edited by TheSownRose; 21-05-2012 at 02:06.
