Whos everyone going for the win? Its obviously gonna depends hugely on the car as seems to be the case this year but i see alonso, hamilton and raikkonen going well here. Tyres should be interesting too, especially if someone does a vettel last year and tries to stay out on and old set of tyres at the end of the race

Monaco is a track that where drivers usually make more of a difference than the car. That said, balance is so important here. Get it spot on and the confidence of the driver will soar and he will get ever closer to the barriers getting faster and faster.

I think quali is going to be amazing. RBR vs Lotus vs Merc vs Ferrari vs McLaren.
Kimi and Alonso to fight again at Monaco! Literally can't wait!

    So amazing!

Force India traditionally put up a very good fight at Monaco - if di Resta doesn't screw his front wing up at the start of the race like last time I think he'll be in for a very good points haul.

Alonso, Raikkonen and (in particular) Hamilton are all very good around Monte Carlo - Jenson doesn't seem to cope as well with it.

Always enjoy watching his steering input around Monaco, it's always non stop movement throughout.

I personally think the best I've seen him drive there is during free practice '08 in the Renault. He was drifting it around Portier, kicking the back out and even kissing the barrier every now and again...really pushing in that slow car and setting times well above its capabilities.

Another highlight is Kimi overtaking Webber going down Beau Rivage. Awesome move, titanium balls.

Also Kubica in the Renault in '10. That car looked like it was dancing around, especially through the bumps around Casino Square :sogood:

Mercedes recently revealed that excluding acceleration/braking, the driver does over 200 inputs per lap.

I agree that the driver can make a huge difference around monaco but they still need a decent car underneath them. Also tactics are going to play a huge role if any of the other races are to go by because if anyone pits early and gets stuck behind a midfield runner then it could be their race screwed.

You say that but he has won at monaco, should have won last year and has also had a second. If he has the car set up right then he will be right up there

Flying out on Thursday so gonna miss the practice sessions, but sitting in the grandstands down by the harbour for qualy and then watching the race at Stars and Bars. My boyfriend told Romain where we're sitting for qualy and he said he'd wave as he went past! Heh.

To be fair, when he won it was in a car that was outrageously quicker than the rest of the field, and when he came second there were only 9 finishers.

Last year he could (and probably should) have won, but he didn't take his opportunity to get past Vettel and it ultimately cost him.

That sounds really cool! Hope you enjoy it, plus Lotus/Kimi could be really strong here. This team usually goes well round here, traditionally the cars have great traction.

I'm expecting Hamilton or one of the Lotuses to win. Lotus in particular have been very strong the last couple of races.

Apart from that I really have no clue how the weekend will unfold. However it should be fascinating to watch.

    Hamilton to win.
Hamilton to have at least one pitstop > 5 seconds.

    Which to bet on... hmmmmm....
