Re: What UMS do I need this year?Thank you so much! Do you have any idea how that would translate into raw marks? Like percentages? Don't worry if not! x(Original post by 117r)

Re: What UMS do I need this year? You'll need 175/200 (A)(Original post by LittleMissCurious)
Oh and I forgot to add Critical Thinking - 145/200 (B)
You just need 80% overall. 80% of 400 is 320, so you just need to bring whatever UMS you have now up to 320. Very simple.

Re: What UMS do I need this year?I have every idea how you would find out roughly what raw marks you would need to get those UMS scores.(Original post by LittleMissCurious)

However, this isn't simple. You'll need to research grade boundaries on Google for all your exams (making sure to get the boundaries for your exam board), and look at the different boundaries over the years.
Getting the A boundary in raw marks will give you 80% UMS, getting the B boundary in raw marks will give you 70% UMS and so on.
For more information, TSR has a page about UMS:

To find the grade boundaries, I would Google something like this:
[exam board] [subject] A level [year] grade boundaries
E.g. Edexcel History A level June 2010 grade boundaries -

Looks complicated, would have never worked out how to do it on my own
Thanks!
