no they didn't reach the target you do 100 x 0.85^4 which leaves you with 52.2% meaning that they are now at 52.2 percent of what they were in 2010 so they have only cut it by 47.8% meaning they were 2.2% short

Where did you get all they figures from? I dont think thats correct, it didnt say what they were in 2010

yes it didn't say what they were in 2010 but because in they wanted to cut emissions by 15 percent each year you take 2010's figure just to be 100 representing 100%. Then because its dropping by 15% your multiplier is (0.85) and because there is four decades between 2010 and 2050 your working should of been

100 x (0.85)^4
= 52.2

100-52.2 = 48.8%

That's what I think.
Did the line start at -2? and turned out like a sad face? i think i done it too much like a parbola!

Weirdest paper I've ever seen in the whole year..
Has anyone seen if any answers are up yet for paper 2?

Mine were,

1. 12.5cm
2.3x^3 = x^2 - 28x + 30
3. 5361.7
4. x = -2.9 x = 0.6
5a) 116
5aii) 16.3
b)1 and 4
6a)6x + 2y = 3148
b)5x = 3y = 3022
c)Yes as they were £10 over the expected price.
7. ab + ab/ab ....pretty sure this is wrong though
8. 323.1 or 36.9
9. root of I/E ...think this could be wrong too?
10. 0.4m
11. xy^3
12. 75m
13. No as they are 2.2% under target
14. 1

Any feedback or wrong/right ones would be soooo great thanks :smile:

I can't remember all my answers but they were the same for 2, 4, 5, 6c, 9, 10, 11, 12

Remember though the answers are only worth 1 mark. You can still get 4 out of 5 in some cases if you've done the correct working!
We were meant to draw a graph? Crapoooo o_O

Yeah haha, I done it wrong! But will get a mark for the axis being 2, -2!
For Question 13, I also did 15 x 4, but it's definitely wrong! I was also thinking it was too little for a 4 marker. I also mucked up the change the subject of the formula one; I got something like D = square root of E x I. Hoping to scrape an A, but really doubtful about that....

Thats what i got for the subject! But i didnt put the 'x' just put EI because it means times, with the square root! Is that not correct? .. Im hoping for a B but paper 1 was too hard i though!
Anyone have a scan of the paper(s)?

For the last question I said
10 years = -15%

So 2020 = 85%
2030 = 70%
2040 = 55%
2050 = 40%

So I calculated that 50% decrease would have been met by 2043.

if someone posts the papers, i will provide worked answers.

can anyone describe what their sin graph was like? :smile:

Basically you start at 0 and instead of going up to 2 at 90 degrees you go down to negative 2 so basically its upside down.

Also, the surd question the answer was 2 i'm pretty sure because if you do root 2 x root 2 you cancel out the root sign and you are left with 2. I didn't think the exam was that bad the only one i messed up was 8a which made me get 8b wrong but all in all i think i've done well. For the global warming question i'm pretty sure its no because it said give reason, so I made up a random number and proved that it didn't work. And for the last question on paper 2 the cosxtanx/sinx i got 1 as you turn tanx into sinx/cosx then cancel out, i think :smile:

I think i got near enough the same for question 1, i think i was 12.4 but i may of wrote 12.5?
I got the same for 2.
My question 3 i got like 1022.1 idk i just found volume of cylinder and a sphere then added them but for that one i wasn't completely sure.
I got the same for question 4
I got the same for question 5 and 6
For question 7 a^2+b^2/ab
Same for question 8 and 9 and 10
For 11 i got x^5/y^2
I got the same for question 12 except mines was 75.3 so basically the same
I basically wrote the same except i done a fully solution, i choose a random number and explained why it didn't work.
And the same for question 14, so i think we got basically the same!!
