AST section - Memory Test

AST section - Memory TestHi all, I am training for the AST. I looked at the sample tests on the RAF sight. On the Memory Test section, it doesn't say what the time delay is between each item they show you - and for section 2 the grids. Does anyone have any clue the time delay between when they show you the different pieces of information?
Maybe someone who has taken this test already - I am trying to practice for the real test.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: AST section - Memory Test1-2 second delay, I'd say on memory test part one where you have to memorise the letters, what I did was just keep repeating the letter sequence over and over in my head, you have one minute to actually memorise it.
I didn't have the strategy for part two with the grids section, so it was a bit like guess and hope it was right as you only have 1-2 seconds to look at each picture. -

Don't concern yourself with the weightings of the groups, just give it your best shot - if you're good enough you'll have no problem.

Re: AST section - Memory TestDoes this really matter? Your getting yourself in soo much of a muddle, it's not going to change your result knowing. It's not even that hard a test if you have reasonable gcse and no history of head trauma you should be fine.(Original post by ewan.peckam)

Re: AST section - Memory TestThat's questionable statement, some trades/branches require rather high score which have been recently increased. According to the system you need to be in top 30% of population to pass statistically for officer/aircrew/atc.(Original post by craglyboy)

But from the friends that have taken it all scoring in the highly and again if the tests on the website are anything to go by then I stand by what I said, the OP is doing himself no favours worrying about stuff that isn't really going to control the outcome.(Original post by Miza)

Re: AST section - Memory TestTest itself isn't hard, but I would say it is definetley harder than the website example, getting average score isn't particularly hard if you revise but if you want above average you need to be really quick! Because the biggest issue is time management, if you don't waste a single second you'll stand a decent chance.
So my best advice would be, don't waste a single second and you should be fine.
