    Here's a question I'm sure gets asked a lot, but -- I flatter myself -- I'm in a somewhat unusual situation.

I'm originally from Canada, but I finish a poli sci degree from Lund University in Sweden next Spring and I want to do the MA in Newspaper Journalism at City.

Entry requirements include one month of work experience at a UK newspaper.

Although I'm an international student, I have the right of residence and work as soon as my EU-national wife finds employment in the UK. I want to use the degree to relocate to England and currently -- we'll see what happens in the next year, though -- I'm within EU law to do so.

Essentialy my question is this: can anyone recommend a way to find a month long work placement in the UK? Good work placements or programmes available through any reputable organisations?

    Hi,

I hope you hear back from some MA Journalism students or alumni, as their tips will probably be most useful to you. In the meantime, there are some good posts regarding work experience on the website WannabeHacks > http://wannabehacks.co.uk/topic/rout...nce-interning/

One important note about work experience for the Newspaper Journalism MA - it needn't be one full month at a single organisation. And in fact, you may benefit from a greater number of shorter internships (in terms of both variety and making useful contacts for the future).

Best of luck, and do feel free to Tweet @cityjournalism with any other Journalism-related questions.
