I'm going to do most of my "long" visits, where I'll have to travel several hundred miles in October. I don't want to go all the way to St Andrews to find I got DDDD in my AS levels!

Hi, I am already in my 2nd year at university but the open days where very important for me. I chose the uni which I felt more comfortable with and I felt like this as soon as I arrived at De Montfort uni in Leicester. Then as I heard all about my course, Media Production, I just liked it even more. I did visit other uni's but I already knew I would be happy at DMU, and 2 years later still am :-)

Yeah,, i am going to see Lincoln, Nottingham Trent, Bolton, Teesside and Hull. From the actual courses i think Bolton would be best but i don't think i like the look of it,, quite like Teesside and Hull as both are by the sea xxx

Hiya, I used to live in Hull and the university is a very good uni, however Hull is on the River Humber rather than beside the sea but the sea isn't too far away.

You may well change your mind about the universities once you have visited, I sure did and is one of the main reasons why it is so helpful to actually visit beforehand. xxxx

Hello, I'm a current year 13 student and I would just like to advise you all to go and see as many as possible, you might think at the moment 'meh, seen one, seen em all' but it really will help you make up your mind, there were some I went to expecting to love and despised and some I went to just to have a look and loved. In all I went to see UCL, Warwick, Exeter, Sussex, UEA (the five I applied too) I also went Oxford, Kings, Nottingham, Leicester, and Kent. I absolutely hated UEA, Kings and Kent. Fell in love with Exeter (my firm) Warwick, UCL and Oxford. Really enjoyed Nottingham, but wasn't as keen on Leicester and Sussex.

But I didn't know that was how I would feel so it really does help to have a look at a lot and a good range to see the differences

Hello well there wasn't anything that I really opposed as such, I though their biology department was fantastic! (the degree I've applied for ) but I didn't like the accomodation and wasn't really keen on the city as a whole, but that said that was Just my personal preference. I have friends who loved Leicester and applied I hope I haven't offended you x

Hi, I take it you mean University of Leicester? I study at De Montfort University in Leicester as they had the perfect course for what I was interested in, Media Production.

The accomodation at DMU is all close by the uni whereas at Uni of Leicester theirs is situated further afield.

I love the city, but everyone is different I know. You have not offended me at all, lol, we all like and look for different things in a university and city. No worries lol xxx

    Ah cool, yes I did
Yep that's basically it really, I preferred a smaller close knit campus, after living in London all my life I wasn't really looking for a buzzing city. Hence me firming Exeter in the end x
