Advantages and disadvantages of going to university

I plan to study Drama at university and recieved a conditional offer which is fair to say is a little too ambitious due to me only studying to a level courses. I have recently discovered my predicted grades for the end of the year and worked out that if I achieve the grades predicted, I won't get a place at university. I have been thinking about if I don't get in and just wondered about which is the best decision for what I want to do which is to become a theatre actor. I have briefly assessed my options and I could, if I fail to get a place at uni, go into full-time work and join a amateur dramatic group however I was wondering what would future employers prefer. Really don't know what to do so any advice that anyone can give me would be very appreciated.
