hey there.. i'm a second year student and lived there last year and it is pretty cool.. great thing about the lawns is that you get to form close knit groups with block members immediately.. and having other blocks close by with common rooms and stuff mean you can make going out pretty nice.. i suppose you've seen how it looks like but if you havent well each room ( at least 95%) come with a balcony.. you might think nothing of it but when it is summer its actually pretty handy to have one..plus if you're on on e of the top floors its a great place to store alchohol lol.. what halls have you applied to be in?

me and my comrades have just come to the end of a delightful year at the lawns establishment, what i can remember of my first year has without doubt left me 100% incredulous as to the potential that human beings have to experience fun.

ps went to welly last night still battered, enjoy

ppps reckitt has the best common room, but downs has the most lenient warden, grant is rubbish and nicholson hosts murderers. and downs has the nicest cleaners and fundamentally the best hall

BIG UP RECKITT MASSIVE!!!! We have the only warden who hasn't fined anyone - he's an absolute god - ignore downs guy We have the biggest rooms and kitchens of the halls and the only common room with multiple actual games tables (pool, table tennis etc) and a massive flat-screen TV with sky!! Can't beat it! Reckitt's best :P but in all seriousness, the lawns is all brilliant - food's not the best, but it's edible and great for when you have no money, people are lovely (except for the dick'eds sat next to me...), you're the first accommodation to get collected by the bus to uni so you always get on it and of course you have the big lawn, where you can have bbq's and play games etcetc on it you're gonna have an epic time

I'm in my third year at Hull and lived in Reckitt B/P
Overall the Lawns was pretty good, for some reason if you live in Reckitt you automatically hate Downs residents. The food is OK, curly fries are pretty good but steer clear of some of the salad (bit slimy) the Lawns bar is great and SO cheap they also (or used to) have a pub quiz. Reckitt has a good sized common room but the kitchens are smaller than Nicholson and there aren't any en-suites but you do have a sink. Worst thing about the Lawns were the washing machines, dryers don't work well so put your washing into dry twice (but hey, they may have changed the washing machines and dryers!) Also there has been a campaign to get a bus shelter at the Lawns for ages but asfaik no one had yet so if it is raining and you need to get the bus make sure you bring an umbrella. It's really good in the Summer as there are loads of BBQs on the lawns.
In your second year when you're applying for houses, steer clear of Accommodation Warehouse, UniCom and Club Easy, Wardbright and MyPad are good though.
    Have fun at the Lawns
