At what age do you think a woman should stop breastfeeding

    When the parent wants to stop I suppose.. I don't see it being a problem at 2/3 years of age as a comfort thing before bed.. Maybe it's the kind of thing that's OK until a younger sibling is born or until nursery or something.

    Well the natural age of weaning for a human child is between the ages of 3 and 7. It is simply a societal view that children should be weaned much younger than that, but it would be considered ridiculous to try and stop a puppy from drinking it's mother's milk prematurely because we think it is 'disgusting' after a few weeks of age. I think it is probably a good idea to stop before the child starts school as it could cause bullying if the other children found out. Otherwise I'd say for as long as the mother and child both want to continue I personally plan on breast feeding for about 2 years.
