Decline a previously accepted conditional offer
Hey there,
I am an international student and need some help with the UK university's admission system. I recently applied for postgrad courses.
The Problem: I have accepted a conditional offer of a university master course and have now received another condtional offer from a second university that I would rather go to.
1. Can I declinde a previously accepted conditional offer? If so, is an e-mail sufficient.
2. How do you best proceed when getting a conditional offers while still waiting for other universitys to reply?
Thanks -
Re: Decline a previously accepted conditional offer
1. Yes you can! And the sooner you do it the better so that someone else may be able to get your place. However, make sure that you are very highly likely to meet the conditions of the other offer you hold so that you will definitely have somewhere to go for your masters.
2. Some conditional offers have a deadline before which they need to be accepted/rejected by so be mindful of that. If they don't then there's no harm in your waiting to get all your replies back before making decisions about offers. -
Re: Decline a previously accepted conditional offer
Send an e-mail; the admissions officers are excellent about keeping in touch electronically. And like the previous poster said, take care of the matter as soon as possible.
I'm holding a conditional offer too, and it's to a school I really really, *really* would give anything to attend.
