Re: What's the best foundation?
A few foundations I can wholeheartedly recommend:
- Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (ideal for an everyday no make-up look, but on the expensive side)
- Lancome Teint Miracle (very similar to Armani, but slightly heavier coverage and slightly cheaper)
- Anything by Laura Mercier (especially good if you want heavy coverage)
- Bourjois Healthy Mix (amazing value for money)
All of these have a very good range of shades as well - I'm extremely fair, but I have found matching colours with these four brands

Yeah this is what I bought eventually! I love chanels universal bronzer so I thought I would try their foundation(Original post by squeakypop)
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua! It's pretty pricey (at around £32) so if you wanted something cheaper I'd recommend Boujouis Healthy Mix foundation, which is around the £10 mark

Isn't laura mercier kind of expensive?(Original post by katebrighteyes)
Laura Mercier is good for heavier coverage and it's what I use BUT I agree with others that Bourjois foundations are amazing for the price!

Re: What's the best foundation? It is actually ridiculously expensive but where it's very heavy you don't need to use alot so it is value for money I'd say.(Original post by alexandraa)

Furthermore, I get discount as I work for John Lewis......however just so you know I tried Bobbi Brown (which is also expensive) and I found it to dry out and look horrible. So alot of them aren't worth the money. -
Re: What's the best foundation?
You could try L'Oreal's "Infallible". It's relatively cheap (around £10 I believe), is smooth and makes your skin feel nice, comes in loads of different shades (this is why I bought it, because my skin is naturally seriously pale), and doesn't feel cakey when it's applied. The only downside is probably the fact that it has a smell to it (like sun lotion), but that might not be a problem for you.

Ok I might see what it's like! Thanks for your help(Original post by katebrighteyes)

Re: What's the best foundation?Laura Mercier prices are not that bad. It's more expensive than Clinique but still within the realms of normal!(Original post by alexandraa)
Actually Laura merciers price doesn't seem too bad! Considering I normally go for Chanel and Clinique anyway it's fairly reasonable if it is as good as everyone says it is!

I haven't used a Laura Mercier foundation but I have the tinted moisturiser and it's quite nice. IMO the best thing is the undereye concealer "secret concealer" which is really good, but that is quite expensive considering the tiny amount you get in the pot compared to some other brands. If you want to try any Laura Mercier go to a Space NK shop, the girls from Laura Mercier in there always seem to offer to try loads of stuff on me when I go in.
