Re: AQA Biol4 15th June 2012You pretty much summed up my approach to revising this god-awful unit! (I did it in January). The main reason it's so disgusting is because they ask you seemingly different questions each year, but you can use the same/very similar bullet points as answers every time! It's just a matter of working out which points you need to regurgitate (no science necessary(Original post by jessplease)
What will help you with this, is going through a lot of past papers, like even from specifications that arent ours, as they tend to maintain the same questions, as there is only so much application and so many questions they could ask.
I remember for last years paper, i went through loads of past how science works questions and one question was basically the same! e.g
some really common applciation questions are;
1. factors to consider when deciding sample size: enough for representative, and statistical test, but not too time consuming
2. Why use units per gram or per area: because it allows comparison and there are large variations in overall masses or area size
But yeahh that sort of thing
)
Also there are always two or three large 6-markers at the end of every paper which are AO1 heaven, great for clawing back marks lost on the crappy ecology questions that don't make sense... -

Has anyone done the June 10 paper ?
It's really hard but the grade boundaries are massively low -
Re: AQA Biol4 15th June 2012Agreed, I love it when the ask you to describe the light dependent reaction for five marks, I just draw out the cycle, simples.(Original post by Bright.Inspiration.)

I'm doing it now, but I'm going through with my notes and the mark scheme, it is really hard.
The grade boundaries are amazingly low though... I lost like over 20 marks and managed to get 100UMS

Re: AQA Biol4 15th June 2012
I struggle with these exams even though my subject knowledge is usually pretty flawless.
I was wondering what peoples approach to exams was. I'm thinking I might just learn bullet point answers, do you think it would be acceptable to give all my answers in bullet points in a similar way to the mark scheme answers? Will I still get the marks?
