what did everyone get for the that bio-fuel question why is it negative, i wrote that
bio ethanol is renewable and as co2 is released , its taken back via the crop,:frown:, dont know if its right

I think I put..

No net gain of carbon;
More carbon taken in in photosynthesis than given out in combustion of the fuel;
Value has lower NLP than petroleum and therefore is expressed as a negative percentage.

Kinda?

i said that as it was made from plants the plants that was used for the biofeul that took up co2 for photosynthesis and removed it from the air and the amount that was saved by using it in combustion overall that released co2 had a low value overall ... in exam style wording though hahah

scientists dont know about the costs dont know about the yield too, was a guess probably wrong

May be concerned the predator turns to a pest themselves.

got similar points as you, kinda differently worded
D: That paper wasn't nice :frown: There was the occasional nice question such as 'what is a community?' and the first few questions...then BAM the rest of the paper except the last couple of questions went straight over my head.

Praying for lower grade boundaries, I don't want to get a D again :frown:

For 5e. was it something to do with predators get killed by pesticide, less predation therefore increase in pests?

I put something like:

Predators affected/wiped out and killed by the chemical;
Pests themselves resistant to thrive.

OR

Very few pests are resistant, so major fall in their population;
Thus lower food source for predator, so these are completely killed;
Resistance gene advantageous so is passed on and with no predator the population rapidly increases.

what did everyone get for that question about keeping temperature constant, i talked about temperature will affect the rate of respiration and also results can be compared

Said:

To ensure only one Independent variable is measured and present;
Temperature therefore controlled;
To ensure fair test and valid results;
As temperature changes affect enzyme activity/rate of respiration etc
And may cause denaturation.

same :smile: and just ranted on a bit about enzymes in e.g during glycolysis and denaturation and kinetic energy in regards to e-s complexes to cover every enzymey possible point ahhaha

never know what these people want uigefifeueiod :angry:

i got 92000.. in the dark which means the light dependent stage basically i.e the grana so only the light independent stage will occur i.e the stroma hence you just take it away from the 96000

yeah i went by that logic too, but loads on here are saying that it's 4000.

Stroma and Grana is 96000

Stroma on it's own is 4000

So if theres no light, you can eliminate the Grana, which just gives you the stroma of 4000 if that makes any sense. No wonder they got 4000!

Are you sure that answer can't be given by NOT giving a quantitative answer...?

What do you guys reckon the grade boundaries will be.

I think very similar to Jan 2012.

My guess is
51 for an A.
46 for a B
42 for a C

now thats a silly question charter! this is ocr were talking about, wouldn't surprise me if you had to draw a pig for the answer

so maybe the answer was actually qualitative !!

It was 50 for an A in Jan12. So I reckon it'll be about 48 for an A this time round, a bit lower not higher!
