Re: Should Iceland and Greenland be forced to swap names? (POLL)You're lucky to have flown over Iceland without that bloody volcano stopping you.(Original post by justmyopinions)
No.
I flew over Iceland in July of 2010 and there was a sprinkling of snow on the ground. Also, their names are traditions. -
Re: Should Iceland and Greenland be forced to swap names? (POLL)I always thought they should. East London gal Yeah?(Original post by girl55)

Re: Should Iceland and Greenland be forced to swap names? (POLL)
There are more worthy candidates for name changes. Great Yarmouth, Upper Beeding (south of Lower Beeding in Sussex), Arsenal (who don't play in Woolwich anymore) and of course, Manchester United who like most of their fans are not in Manchester.

God I wish the name of that country could be changed. -
Re: Should Iceland and Greenland be forced to swap names? (POLL)Is Upper Beeding at a higher elevation than Lower Beeding? That might be why they were called that.(Original post by barnetlad)

Re: Should Iceland and Greenland be forced to swap names? (POLL)Yep, that's true - exactly what I was about to say before you posted it.(Original post by rainbow.panda)
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Greenland called Greenland because the Scandinavians called it that to attract settlers? -
