Should I get a nose job?
I've hated my nose for a long time, probably since in middle school people said it was big.
I hate the 'bump' at the top, and I always wanted to get it fixed. I saved up for this reason. I'm just terrified of the procedure (it looks horrific), of it going wrong and ending up worse, and of not feeling like myself anymore.
It's really asymmetrical too, it's more 'bumpy' on one side.
Honest opinions please.. and sorry but I'm not going to post a full face picture. I know you can't be 100% sure without seeing it but I can't do that.
Thanks.

Oh, and in this forum for anon. -
Re: Should I get a nose job?
youd rather have someone cut you up.. have the risks of any op than just put up with a nose.. spend the money on therapy instead

EDIT: thanks for the negs guys.. keep em coming
i like to speak my mind but if you dont agree then so be it!

Re: Should I get a nose job?
Impossible to tell what your nose looks like in relation to the rest of your face (some people 'fit' their noses).
However, I'd say no, don't have a nose job.
1. Your nose is almost certainly fine - all young people have anxieties that aren't noticable to other people.
2. If you get to know and like someone, you naturally come to like their appearance too. You must have experienced that?
3. Plastic surgery is usually obvious, and in my opinion much more unattractive than any natural if unsymmetrical look.
Sorry if this sounds blunt, but that's what I think. You will attract people to you far more if you forget about your nose and become a more relaxed, confident person. And then you can use the money you've saved for something nice

Re: Should I get a nose job?It is big, and i dont want a nose that 'doesn't look that big'.. I would like to have one that i feel good about.(Original post by LemonLizards)
Probably should post a picture of it front on.
Might be why you think your nose is to big. You keep comparing it from the side. It always looks bigger that way.
Doesn't even look that big anyway.
Anyway:

Sorry, its quite a freaky looking picture with the eyes like that... -

Re: Should I get a nose job?Your nose is fine. Mine's got a MUCH bigger bump than that and I wouldn't have a nose job. My granddad had a nose job (health reasons rather than cosmetic) and he was in so much pain for ages and looked like he'd been punched repeatedly in the nose for about 4 weeks while the bruising went down.
I can almost guarantee that if you ask friends/family what they think they won't see the problem like you do. But I understand your feelings, because I used to obsess about mine for a while. If you don't like seeing it, don't stare at it in the mirror and don't turn sideways in photographs etc. (there's one of me kidding my friend on the cheek that I have on my pinboard where I'm not happy with my nose but that's the only one I have of me turning sideways and because she died of cancer a little over a year ago I won't take it down). The less you look at it the less it should matter to you. If it still matters then talk to someone about it (a professional), and only if that doesn't work should you consider the surgery. -

It's easy for people to say its fine, but I've literally felt awful about it for years. I don't feel as bad as I used to be but I used to really, really hate it. I want to see what people honestly think about it, because I don't know if I can trust my own judgement.
Unfortunately my nose isn't my only problem
