    Maths question c2
    Hey guys,
I have been working through some past papers and solomon papers, and I came across a question which I found difficult. (For reference it is june 2011 edexcel c2 paper, question 5b).

Now I used the tan ratio, as 6-r is the adjacent, and the radius the opposite, however in the mark scheme, sin is used. Could someone please explain to me why tan is not used and why sin must be used here?

(Sorry I'm not sure how to upload attachments so I just referenced the paper )
