Eating makes me dizzy
Over the past couple of weeks I've been eating very little (because of mental health problems, seeing a psychiatrist today to hopefully start getting them sorted) and, while when I eat small snacks like a piece of fruit or packet of crisps my body feels normal enough (well, quite weak, but no better or worse than before eating), if I try eating something a bit larger, say a small bowlful of food or a complan milkshake (formulated to replace one meal) I start feeling dizzy and light-headed almost immediately afterwards. It's happened with savoury stuff like pasta as well as the milkshakes so I'm guessing it isn't anything sugar-related, and I'm confused as to why if I'm feeling weak from not eating that eating more (not a massive amount more mind) should make me feel worse and not better?
Anybody know?

Having had issues with food myself, I think I know what feeling you mean. If you are not eating very much on a regular basis, then your stomach shrinks and adapts to this way of life, although of course your body still need it to function. Therefore, when you eating something a little bigger than normal, it's a shock to the system as your stomach has been invariably empty. I used to find that if I hadnt managed to let myself eat in a long time and then did eat, i would feel dizzy and sick because my stomach had to deal with it. The advice I would offer it to not let the dizziness stop you from eating, if anything I would say it's a sign that your body really needs it!

Re: Eating makes me dizzyThat was my first thought, but it happens pretty much immediately after eating a meal (and not after a sugary snack), and I'd have thought something like pasta would take a bit to get processed. My biology's pretty outdated though.(Original post by Double Agent)
I assume it is the rush of blood sugar coming back, try to eat little and often to keep it stable, and it shouldnt be so noticable each time.
