Where to live during PGCE?
Hi everyone,
I have an offer for a PGCE for September, and am looking into accommodation for the year. As the uni don't offer any halls for PGCE students, where to people live generally? Any areas where postgraduates generally live?
I have seen that some people live in Leamington/Kenilworth. Is it possible to then drive into uni, or is parking a nightmare and/or expensive?
Any advice gratefully received
Thanks! -
Re: Where to live during PGCE?Parking is £3 per day (or scratch cards at £30 for 12 days per calendar month) but some pay and display areas can fill up quickly so spaces might be hard to find. On the other hand a 3 term bus pass is around £250 or so.(Original post by Daftdonkey)

There is a quick overview of off campus accommodation options in post 6 of this thread (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show...94&postcount=6) - it's really either Coventry (Canley/Earlsdon/Cannon Park/Tile Hill) or Leamington.
Oh and if you apply with Warwick Accommodation:
"Students joining the University for the full-time, one year Postgraduate Certificate in Education are not eligible for campus accommodation. If students apply for accommodation we will assist them in finding suitable off-campus accommodation and, where possible, in a University Managed off-campus house sharing with other postgraduate students."
