Despite the fact the majority of people don't understand what Zionism actually is, and the fact it has been hijacked and politicised, well, I don't want to bombard this post with a bunch of videos, books, news paper links, opinions polls, Pew polls, research papers, interviews, lectures, comments, clerics, violence, law and a whole lot of other stuff,

but it seems anything bad that goes on anywhere in the Arabic/Muslim world its zionism this, zionism that, if there is a Suicide Bombing in Pakistan by Salafist extremists zionists are behind it, if there isn't a bombing, and the country is moving towards liberalism then zionists are behind it, if I stub my toe zionists are behind it, if I don't stub my toe zionists are plotting a toe stubbing scenario.

But it often extends further, some may blame "zionists", but a lot go the whole hog and blame jews as a whole, cue thousands or arabic TV shows showing Jews in the same vein as Nazi Propoganda.

Some may say "oh its criticism of Israel", erm, right, no. Lots of people criticise Israel, but frankly bringing Israel up when we are talking about pure Jew hatred is the definition of apology.

Anti zionism isn't anti semitism.

I think you are exemplifying two standardised, learned debating soundbites.

There are two types of people that crop up,

those that equate being against Israel and being anti-zionism = anti-semtis ... who are of course wrong

and those that always apply their learned soundbite "HURR DURR ANTI-ZIONISM =/= ANTI SEMITISM", which gets annoying, despite the fact they are correct.

But, in my expirience, those that are vehemently opposed to Israel, and aren't just against its foreign policy (as most people are), but want it to be destroyed and/or its people, and always bang on about zionism, are also anti-semitic and use jews and zionism as synonyms in conjunction.

I don't like zionists one bit, regardless of if they are jews or not. I also don't mind jews (given they are not strong zionism supporters).

While i do not like zionists, i still think Jews should be able to live in Israel if they wish, but they shouldn't be preventing Muslims from entering Israel nor be destroying Palestinian houses and building over them.
Also, they should **** off out of Palestine and stop occupying it with their military.

Saying only Muslims are obsessed with zionism is also wrong. Anyone with a little common sense will tell you what Israel with their zionist agenda is doing is wrong.

A few quick points:

1. I have never heard of this apparently every day occurrence of Muslims blaming things on Zionism or Jews.

2. Lets pretend for a moment that this actually does happen: now can you understand how Muslims feel when society extends their ill opinions of suicide bombers and extremists to all Muslims? It's not nice is it?

3. And the link you provided doesn't back up any of the accusations you were making; all it says is that:

• some countries don't like Jews,

• some don't like Muslims (in fact more have negative views of Muslims than they do of Jews)

• and that the percentage of Muslims that who see suicide bombings as justified has dramtically decreased.

4. Could you please provide some actual evidence of your claims, that:

Could the answer be as simple as it is horrifying: For generations, the leaders of these so-called Muslim countries have been spoon-feeding their populations a constant diet of propaganda similar to the one that generations of Germans (and other Europeans) were fed — that Jews are vermin and should be dealt with as such? In Europe, the logical conclusion was the Holocaust. If Ahmadinejad has his way, he shall not want for compliant Muslims ready to act on his wish.

I am against zionism too.

But the extent certain people go to blame everything and anything on zionists is just pure hatred, and it extends to anti-semitism when you go that far.

I feel that the overwhealming negs are because people misunderstand (and probably don't read all my posts, and my posts on this thread) that I AM AGAISNT ZIONISM FFS

Here's some food or thought, there are countless news articles from Belgium, Germany, Norway and Sweden where Jews have been killed or beaten by a group of Muslim thugs for being Jewish, whens the last time we heard about a group of Jewish civilian rounding on a muslim and doing the same, in europe.
