Re: Is Ed Balls a 'muttering idiot' as Cameron described him in PMQs?
You're not asking the right question. The question that should be asked is why we are so tolerant of a house of elected representatives that functions on a school playground mechanic of jeering and name-calling. This sort of needless and insulting bravado is the norm in the House of Commons from all of the major parties.

I'd hardly call it needless when Mr Balls is constantly gesticulating from a sedentary position in the eyeline of Mr Cameron. It's entirely deserved, in my opinion.
Balls truly is the most irritating man in British politics today. -

When you insult someone's personal attributes rather than constructively arguing against the point they make, you've already lost
David Cameron is shameful and incredibly embarrassing. His raising of the voice and attempted witty insults at the end of every point is quite frankly boring and I cannot wait till this man single handedly crushes his party at the next general election. -
Re: Is Ed Balls a 'muttering idiot' as Cameron described him in PMQs?
Pretty much every Tory and LD I know wishes Balls was the Labour leader, simply because he would ruin them.
But as far as this goes, it was a bit silly. The HoC is supposed to be above this sort of thing. Though apparently Labour were making comments implying Cameron was an alcoholic beforehand.
Still, yes, he is a muttering idiot. -
Re: Is Ed Balls a 'muttering idiot' as Cameron described him in PMQs?He can't respond to Ed Balls, as Ed Balls is not asking a question, but rather talking over the answer to one. I have no sympathy for a person who is incapable of shutting up and waiting his turn to speak.(Original post by Agenda Suicide)

I did, however, enjoy the way Cameron dealt with Dennis Skinner later. After a rather insulting and agressive 'question' Cameron apologised to Skinner for being sharp last time they spoke and then said that Skinner was a great 'ornament to this house'. That's how you insult someone in a parliament.

Re: Is Ed Balls a 'muttering idiot' as Cameron described him in PMQs?Still, I quite like the way politicians have to think on their feet. Politics in America is very formal, but politicians there aren't tested nearly enough. I would love to see someone like George Bush have a go at Prime Minister's Questions, and see how his policies, as well as his wits stand up to other politicians.(Original post by Chumbaniya)

Re: Is Ed Balls a 'muttering idiot' as Cameron described him in PMQs?
why do they behave like that? whats wrong with them? Every time I see them they try and push in a few personal attacks and then all their buddies start shouting and hitting the floor with their feet. These guys are in their 40s and 50s arent they? Chill out and answer/ask some questions, why can they not do this in a normal way?

Re: Is Ed Balls a 'muttering idiot' as Cameron described him in PMQs?Aren't they referring to Flashman from Tom Brown's schooldays? The character you've quoted in a KRH officer based on that character.(Original post by venenecinema)
